Government paying top barrister £1,700 PER DAY for advising child sex abuse probe

Ben Emmerson QC could pocket £1.7 million by the end of the five-year inquiry

Ben Emmerson QC was paid £177,480 from last September to the end of March this year, for working up to four days a week.

And he could be set to walk away with more than £1.7million by the end of the five-year inquiry.

The lawyer fell out with a panel member earlier this year who accused him of bullying and intimidation, but was cleared by Home Office bosses.

“I only hope that, if compensation is awarded to victims, it is as generous.”
