How and why the Boeing 777 vanished with 239 people on board is likely to remain unknown unless wreckage from the aircraft is located.
The stark warning from the head of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) suggests the hunt to find the missing jet is more important than ever – both for the families of those lost in the tragedy and for future flight safety.
The stricken plane disappeared from radar shortly after taking off on March 8 2014 en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.
And ICAO secretary-general Raymond Benjamin told The Straits Times confusion still dominated the investigation into the downed airliner.
He said: “We don’t know what exactly happened in the cockpit so we don’t know if it was a security issue or a safety issue.
“We have never had a situation where an aircraft flew for seven hours before crashing. Without the aircraft wreckage, we don’t know.”

There is no mention the article about the IBM worker Philip Wood who was on MH370,who sent a text message stating his aircraft had been boarded by unknown military personel..
