A judge has been slammed after describing the actions of a man who coaxed an 11-year-old girl to send him indecent photos as ‘not particularly serious’.
Clive Grace posed as a 12-year-old boy on Facebook and encouraged a primary school-aged child to pose for naked pictures.
The 20-year-old pleaded guilty to causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and three counts of possessing indecent images of a child.
The charges could have led to at least an 18-month jail sentence, according to sentencing guidelines.
But, despite showing no remorse for his actions and having a history of inappropriate sexual behaviour, Recorder David Bartlett decided to give him ‘a chance’ and handed him two-year suspended sentence.
