Historical sex abuse is currently the nation’s favoured blood sport

The past week’s assault on Heath’s reputation has clearly been driven by defensiveness over Jimmy Savile and by past (police) neglect of sex abuse cases

Now that’s an interesting statement Simon

British Rail bosses faced PR disaster in ’80s   ?

The ad that was axed when British Rail heard rumours Savile was a necrophiliac

The now-defunct British Rail is the latest company to be caught up in the Jimmy Savile scandal after a lawyer working there during the 1980s claimed that it axed Jimmy Savile from its ‘Age of the Train’ campaign over rumours he was a necrophiliac. The lawyer has told police that British Rail bosses made the decision after hearing Savile had had sex with bodies at a morgue in Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Bucks. Savile was then dropped from the TV campaign promoting the InterCity 125 service. The lawyer said he came forward with the information following the same claim from BBC presenter Paul Gambaccini on Radio 5, saying: “It struck a chord.” “I remember having a discussion about this in the 1980s and I thought the police should be aware of it.” “If there was a cover-up I wonder who else might have known. The explanation I had was that the revelations were intended to run in a newspaper but in the end they didn’t because of the damage this could cause to Savile’s charity work. “When Savile continued to have a positive public profile I assumed I’d been given false information but recent developments made me reconsider.” Savile denied these accusations in the 1990s, declaring: “Some people get hold of the fact that Jim likes looking after cadavers and say, ‘Aha, Jim’s a necrophiliac!’. I’m not a necrophiliac.”

Westminster locked in war of words over child sex claims as top MP reported over abuse insists: ‘I’m not Jimmy Savile’

The row over the Westminster child sex scandal took a dramatic turn last night when the Labour politician reported to police for allegedly abusing boys declared: ‘I am not a paedophile.’

The allegations against the MP, a former Minister, include that he abused a boy in a mental health unit, was linked to a rent-boy brothel, and used his position to force police to let him off.

A week after the accusations were disclosed by this newspaper, the defiant MP claimed he is the victim of a smear campaign.

The allegations against the MP, a former Minister, include that he abused a boy in a mental health unit, was linked to a rent-boy brothel, and used his position to force police to let him off

But the Conservative MP who reported the allegations to police is standing by his actions. He says some of the alleged crimes occurred as recently as 18 months ago and that police are investigating.

The Labour MP, who cannot be named for legal reasons, told The Mail on Sunday: ‘I am completely innocent of these outrageous accusations. They are malicious and unfounded. I have never abused any young boys. I am not some kind of Jimmy Savile figure. I am not gay, I am happily married.

Dad-of-six Adrian Marsden, 59, was quizzed over allegations he attacked a girl, seven, in the 1970s.

Cops swooped on his home after the alleged victim came forward.

Marsden — who publicly condemned his evil uncle in the wake of the sex abuse scandal — was held for several hours.

He is believed to have denied all the allegations and was last night released on bail as cops carry out further investigations.

Detectives yesterday spoke to his ex-wife Julie Jackson, 58, who married him in 1975.

Stunned Julie told The Sun: “He’s no paedophile. That’s my honest opinion. I was absolutely shocked when I heard he’d been arrested.

A brief reminder on Dame Janet Smith – and her ‘conflicts of interest’

According to the nooz…

Dame Janet Smith is conducting a review into how Savile was able to carry out sexual abuse of children and adults while at the corportation.

But investigative website Exaro says she has voiced her concern about why the broadcaster failed to realise what was happening, despite hints of paedophilia in one of its own programmes 15 years ago.

They found that Dame Janet, a former Court of Appeal judge, has asked several BBC executives what enquiries were made about Savile as a result of a documentary about him presented by Louis Theroux.

In the programme, Mr Theroux explicitly referred to the ‘paedophile’ accusation against Savile, who at one time presented ‘Jim’ll Fix It.’

Is this really earth shattering revelationary news?

NO (OXI :))

The same  info was covered in the ‘Jimmy Savile outed as a paedo’ thread back in 2012 (RIP Anders)

For a transcript of the Theroux interview – try this link below:

Ripper files reopened: Compelling and macabre new clues point to a chilling truth… the depraved Yorkshire Ripper butchered not 13 but 35 women and one MAN and, according to a gripping new book, police covered it up

Police have known for more than 30 years that the Ripper may have struck many more times. Scandalously, the cases have not been re-opened. The families of the men and women he killed and the unacknowledged survivors have been shamefully ignored to preserve the blushes of West Yorkshire Police

Haven’t read the book – so don’t know if it covers Savile, Roundhay  Bruno, Henlow Grange, Leida Costigan, Haute de la Garenne etc etc

Somehow I doubt it

As I mooted:

I’d conjecture that the co-ordination of many high level inputs into a cover-up have possibly mistimed their actions?

That leaves another 3 to 4 days for a major distraction to be floated?

Not that the Savile saga isn’t central to the whole – it is

However, we’re not stepping backwards – we won’t give ground – and we won’t be distracted

Jimmy Savile had love affair with 21-stone King of Cornets accused of abusing young boys

Child sex predator Jimmy Savile had a twisted love affair with a 21-stone ice cream magnate accused of abusing young boys.

According to previously unseen police intelligence reports: “Savile had a sexual relationship with Peter Jaconelli”.

They were suspected of being involved in the abuse of 35 young victims as part of a paedophile ring but never faced justice.

The police file says that the late Jaconelli – nicknamed King of the Cornets – enticed young boys into his ice cream parlour by throwing cash at them.

It states: “Jaconelli would sexually touch the young boys in a scramble for the money.”

Former cop fears ‘cover-up’ as he alleges link between sex beast Sidney Cooke and young boy’s murder

Former cop fears ‘cover-up’ as he alleges link between sex beast Sidney Cooke and young boy’s murder

A top detective who probed Britain’s worst paedophile Sidney Cooke can’t rule out a cover-up over a boy’s murder allegedly involving the sex beast.

Ex-Chief Superintendent Roger Stoodley felt there was evidence to accuse Cooke, 88, of killing Mark Tildesley, seven, in Wokingham, Berks, in 1984.

Mr Stoodley’s comments come amid claims that crimes linked to Cooke were never properly investigated.

The Sunday People last week revealed that Cooke has been repeatedly linked to the unsolved murder of eight-year-old Vishal Mehrotra , who vanished in 1981.

And Mr Stoodley says, after revelations about Jimmy Savile escaping justice, he can’t rule out a cover-up over Mark.

SAVILE – BBC – As it Happened?

SAVILE – BBC – As it Happened?

Staying with the with Jimmy Savile story, (flying at concorde level to quote JS himself) we can also apply our ‘cover up’ template to the BBC’s handling of their internal inquiries.

Let us remember that:

The BBC is run under Royal Charter, therefore it is under the control of the privy council: (recall Justice Macur and Peter Morrison?)

Officers -Governors – Director-Generals – BBC Trustees are appointed by the British monarch on advice of government ministers.

The BBC Trust is the governing body of the BBC. The Trust is separate from the Executive Board which is led by the Director-General. The Executive Board is responsible for the operational delivery of BBC services and the direction of BBC editorial and creative output in line with the framework set by the Trust.

A few of the main characters in this soap – and flannel – variety performance, including.

Chris Patten, Chairman of the BBC Trust, Governor of Ditchley Foundation, linked to Bilderberg and the Trilateral Commission and Common Purpose, multi-faceted , but not a sailor – as he failed to steer a true course.
Helen Boaden, BBC director of news appeared to survive criticism, unlike her deputy Stephen Mitchell. It was widely thought, however, that she would not continue in the job, but in February Boaden accepted an offer of a new job as director of BBC Radio
Michael Grade – Controller of BBC1 (1984–86)
Jimmy Savile died on 29 October 2011

Immediately after Savile’s death BBC Newsnight began an investigation into reports that he was a paedophile.. Savile’s victims alleged abuse at Duncroft, Stoke Mandeville hospital and the BBC.   The Newsnight expose was originally scheduled for broadcast on 7 December 2011, but a decision was taken to cancel its transmission. This ‘decision’ ultimately developed into a major crisis for the BBC when a similar ITV documentary was eventually screened on 3rd October 2012.   The BBC sub-scandal involved senior executives, director-generals past and present, including the chairman of the BBC Trust, Chris Patten.  The corporation stood accused of suppressing the Newsnight programme because it could have compromised the screening of two Jimmy Savile Christmas tribute shows.

The then Director of BBC News, Helen Boaden, was accused of placing an “impossibly high barrier” before Newsnight’s plans to expose Jimmy Savile as a paedophile, by insisting that its journalists act as if he were still alive and able to sue, according to sources at the programme.  Helen Boaden then revealed that she had phoned Mark Thompson, who was BBC Director General, in November 2011,and told him of the police investigation into Savile at Duncroft. Thompson categorically denied being responsible for pulling the programme. Lord Patten was made aware of that phone call in a letter from Tory MP Rob Wilson.

Despite being handed a transcript of Boaden and Thompson’s phone conversation, Lord Patten repeatedly refused to address the issue and even warned one MP he could be sued if he attempted to go public.  Then on 22nd October 2012 came a Panorama special.

The joint BBC investigation between Panorama and The World At One, which aired on both BBC One and BBC Radio 4, asked how the DJ got so close to the heart of Britain’s establishment and why in 1972 the BBC had failed to take effective action that might have saved young people from abuse. As the scandal engulfed the BBC within weeks the corporation again came under the spotlight with their Newsnight broadcast regarding claims about abuse in North Wales – a programme in which Lord McAlpine was NOT named, but who, nonetheless, still received a large payout in compensation – for what exactly is still not fully known.

The Newsnight Savile scandal gave rise to two investigations. (dead end investigations)

Dealing with the first – The Pollard Review , headed by Nick Pollard who was the former Head of Sky News – (control over key personnel?)
The Pollard Review Terms of Reference (ToR) for both independent reviews were proposed by the BBC’s Executive Board and approved by the BBC Trust. (Sounding Familiar – same as Waterhouse?)

The Pollard Review ToR
Were there any failings in the BBC’s management of the Newsnight investigation?

The Pollard Review omitted to report on the Thompson/Boaden communication (information withheld)

The outcome
The unanimous conclusion of the four Trustees is that they are satisfied that Nick Pollard properly weighed all the evidence that was available to him and that the conclusions of his report are robust. They remain confident that Nick Pollard conducted an independent, fair and thorough examination of the issues raised by the dropped Newsnight investigation.

Dame Janet Smith Review
Lady Justice Smith has been listed as one of the 100 most powerful women in the UK. She is one of only four women judges sitting in the Court of Appeal, alongside Baroness Butler-Sloss, whom you may recall stood down as Chair beacuse of a ‘conflict of interest’.

Initially, Dame Janet’s remit was to”conduct an impartial, thorough and independent review of the culture and practices of the BBC during the years that Jimmy Savile worked there”… (including) whether BBC child-protection and whistleblowing policies were good enough. This would have encompassed reviewing Stuart Hall’s activities.

However, she has recused herself after it emerged that she knew Ray Colley, who had previously worked with Stuart Hall as the regional manager at BBC Manchester.  Mr Colley’s wife, was married to Dame Janet’s current husband, Robin Mathieson.
I’ll give you a moment to digest that ………………………………..

The ToR have already been revised – due to Janet’s ‘ conflict of interest’

The review is believed to be covering the years 1965 to 2006.   I say ‘believed’ since although started in 2012, the Review has still not been published…………(a little like Macur?)

It would be possible to conjecture that the Smith review may have more in common with Chilcott than simply the cost

13 famous people to be quizzed by police over historic child abuse in Jersey

13 famous people to be quizzed by police over historic child abuse in Jersey

Detectives revealed prominent figures who are ”well known” will be quizzed “imminently” into allegations of institutionalised sex offences on the Channel Island.

Police have not revealed their identities but confirmed that 13 suspects are public figures including celebrities, media personalities, politicians and sports people.

They are among dozens of people likely to be questioned over the next few weeks as part of Operation Whistle into historical child abuse.

In Jersey, the latest allegations of abuse include some suspects and victims not previously identified in the force’s 2008 child abuse investigation, Operation Rectangle.

The alleged abuse is said to have occurred between the late 1930s and mid 2000s across four institutions, including the infamous Haut de la Garenne.

It is understood that there may be some crossover with the London Metropolitan Police’s Operation Yewtree investigation into sexual abuse carried out by the former children’s TV presenter, Jimmy Savile.

Savile is not believed to be one of the 13 prominent suspects identified but said the force had fielded several further complaints about abuse carried out by him in the Island.

Striders Amazing research Savile, Duncroft School, MOD, UK Government, P.I.E

The Fighting Back team explored the template underpinning historic and current child abuse inquiries http://loucollins.uk/2015/05/31/william-hague-coverup demonstrating a pattern of behaviour from the Home Office and Government Officials. We’re now going to transfer that template to a different setting to show that the same pattern of behaviour, the same MO holds true. So we turn to the scandal that opened the door to greater public awareness of the scale and extent of child abuse, involving media and celebrities, though the Home office and it’s sphere of influence is tangible and traceable in the background.

I am, of course, referring to Jimmy Savile.

Pivotal allegations, following Jimmy Savile’s death, led to the exposure of Savile as a prolific sex offender.

The allegations related to his visits to Duncroft Residential School in the South of England in the 1970s, and the accounts of some former residents that he sexually abused them there and while on visits to television studios.

What many fail to register is that Duncroft was established by the Home Office in the 1960s as an ‘approved school’ to give a second chance at education to girls who were identified as intelligent but who, for whatever reason had encountered social and educational difficulties.

Screen Shot 2015-06-01 at 15.58.39

The Duncroft Approved School was one of 121 across the country managed and owned by voluntary groups overseen by central government.

The School was run by the National Association for Mental Health (NAMH, known as Mind since 1972)

In 1973, as with Bryn Estyn/Alyn in Wales, the School became an Assisted Status Community Home with Education (CHE) run in conjunction with Hounslow London Borough Council. (note the date)

In 1976, Barnardo’s took over the running of the establishment. (Queen Elizabeth is the patron of Barnados)( Cherie Blaire was President from 2001 til 2007)

Duncroft is believed to have closed by 1980 and the building has now been redeveloped.  (Like so many homes where abuse took place – it was closed before the revelations became public)

Duncroft puts the Home Office, Charities, Local Government, the Police and the BBC all under scrutiny.

From the report ‘Giving Victims a Voice’, compiled by the NSPCC and MPS, we get a clearer picture of the timeline and scale of Savile’s offending, from 1955 through 2009.

Screen Shot 2015-06-01 at 15.59.46

How was it Possible for a single individual to get away with 54 years of abuse? Could it be that investigations were deferred and information withheld?

Screen Shot 2015-06-01 at 16.00.41

From the HMIC report, which supposedly covers a period from 1964 through 2012, we find the following information – please note the dates.

Screen Shot 2015-06-01 at 16.11.25

An incident of rape, reported in 1963, where the victim was told to ‘forget about it” and ‘move on’ (as echoed by David Cameron?). Then a categoric statement that police knew or suspected that Savile was a sexual offender since 1964.

Screen Shot 2015-06-01 at 16.12.09

If you read the extracts you will note that ”they don’t know’ if there was any police investigation as a result of that knowledge………………..oh and records appear to be ”lost’ or ”destroyed. A pattern emerges?

It’s clear from their own reports that police suspected Savile was a sexual offender from 1964.

Again, from the HMIC Report we learn of the existence of a ledger, held by the MPS Paedophile Unit, though little is known of its provenance.  However, its existence indicates that by 1964, Savile was known to MPS officers investigating sexual offences against children.

The ledger clearly identifies Jimmy Savile and Duncroft School.

Screen Shot 2015-06-01 at 16.13.54

The report also states that:

No evidence was found to suggest that any investigation was carried out as a result of that intelligence. The 1964 MPS ledger is not recorded on INI or the Police National Database (PND) (The Impact Nominal Index or INI is a computer system that enables UK police forces to establish whether any other force holds information on a person of interest. It was created by the IMPACT Programme led by the Home Office in 2006).  A classic case of information withheld?

The HMIC report reveals that through 2007 – 2009, the Surrey police officially investigated Mr. Savile’s conduct, but he was never charged.

Alison Levitt QC’s report to the DPP entitled “In the matter of the late Jimmy Savile OBE” reveals the transcripts of some of those interviews.

  1. From a letter of  27 November 2014, it is now on record that Surrey police advised a victim that any allegation would need to be corroberated and supported before Savile would even be approached.  They also advise that it would be necessary to contact her ex-husband and other collaegues from 40 years back. Was it necessary to create such obstacles?

Screen Shot 2015-06-01 at 16.23.37

2 Alison Levitt QC states clearly that this was ‘plainly wrong as a matter of law

Screen Shot 2015-06-01 at 16.24.26

Reading the detail of the report leaves an unformulated question – were these survivors willfully misled? Willful Misconduct?

There is no question that they were unlawfully advised.

Inevitably,as the MO holds true to form, From a headline of 4 December 2014 the result is a dead end investigation

Screen Shot 2015-06-01 at 16.30.30

On screen is part of the Surrey Police exoneration of the CPS Decision. Magnanimously, they do not accuse the whistleblower of being a liar………..

The decision not to proceed is apparently based “wholly on an objective view of all of the evidence available and legal considerations”

Screen Shot 2015-06-01 at 16.31.21

Alison Levitt QC’s legal opinion differs:

And one could remark on the coincidence of a J Savell reporting on J Saville?

Screen Shot 2015-06-01 at 16.33.52

There are a number of possible underlying reasons that Savile was not prosecuted, whistleblowers were ignored and no prosecutions took place as a consequence of Operation Outreach

Here are some:

Screen Shot 2015-06-01 at 16.37.42

Screen Shot 2015-06-01 at 16.38.32

In his autobiography Savile wrote: ‘Princess Alexandra is a patron of a hostel for girls in care (Duncroft). At this place I’m a cross between a term-time boyfriend and a fixer of special trips out.’

Princess Alexandra’s husband, Angus Ogilvy was the president of the National Association of Youth Clubs of which Savile was vice-president.

Both were appointed by Sir Harold Haywood, who also happened to have been Prince Charles most trusted charity aide, responsible for the Prince’s Trust.

Less well known is Sir Harold Haywood’s Chairmanship of Albany Trust  and  his fellow Albany Trustees, members of the Paedophile Information Exchange (PIE) (Keith Hose and Tom O’Carroll) and the Paedophile Action League (PAL).

Albany were intstrumental in producing a booklet entitled Paedophilia: Some Questions and Answers.

“The Albany Trust also proposed to publish a pamphlet about paedophiles which stated that they “represent no special threat to society”.

There are a number of other questions raised by the allegations and survivor accounts, none of which have been addressed by the State Instutions who failed in their duty of care.

What was Mind’s  role at Duncroft School  from 1973 onwards?

Mind appointed a management committee of 12 members, with a majority of eight of these being appointed by Mind itself. How were these people  selected and who were they?

Duncroft was regularly inspected – by Mind, by the local authority and presumably by the Home Office.

What were the outcomes of these inspections during the time that these abuses were taking place?

Panorama and Newsnight reported that the home was often visited by numerous people, including Jimmy Savile, and that these visits seem to occur sporadically without any checks or questions being asked  How this could happen?

Girls were taken, in groups, to recordings of programmes at television centre.

Girls were also allowed to attend the Walton Hop which was within walking distance and were sometimes provided with ‘escorts’

Walton Hop was the hunting ground for convicted abusers such as Chris Denning, Jonathan King and Tom Patten – the latter of Bay City Rollers infamy.

The management must have been aware of this, permissions granted and ‘escorts’ arranged?

How was it that the underage patients knew about the abuses, as did other visitors and yet, according to the statement Mind has issued, it would appear that staff and indeed Mind has no knowledge of this?
